Celebrating Excellence: The Best.Energy Team Awards 2025
This July, we came together to reflect on a phenomenal 12 months of success. After a record-breaking year, it’s only right to celebrate the people who made it happen and that’s what the Best.Energy Team Awards are all about.
The awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding individuals and teams who go above and beyond to drive our mission forward. Whether it’s a colleague who always brings their best to the table, a team that’s smashed its goals, or someone making an impact quietly behind the scenes, this event is about showing appreciation and gratitude across the board.
As Troy Wrigley, CEO and Co-Founder of Best.Energy, put it:
“Last week’s awards were a great moment to recognise the hard work and dedication across our team. It was inspiring to see so many people celebrate and the energy and camaraderie during the celebrations that followed truly reflected what makes this team so special.”
The Team Awards aren’t just a chance to hand out trophies - they’re a reflection of our company culture and values: integrity, sustainability, experience, excellence and innovation. They remind us of what we can achieve together and why celebrating success should always be part of the journey.
A Day to Remember
This year’s event was held at the elegant Harbour Hotel in the heart of Bristol. It was attended by team members from all departments, including remote colleagues who tuned in to the live-stream to celebrate with us.
In recognition of our shared successes and individual achievements, senior management presented highlights from the past year. They showcased their proudest moments from major projects and performance milestones to team growth - leaving everyone feeling proud, inspired, and more connected.
Meet the Winners
The heart of the event was, of course, the highly-anticipated awards themselves. Every single member of the team was nominated by their peers for at least one award, which is testament to how highly-valued each team member is. But we could only have one winner in each category, so congratulations to this year’s winners! Here’s a closer look at who won and what their awards represent:
- Best New Starter – Front End Developer, David Joudrey
Our Best New Starter award recognises those who have gone above and beyond in their first 12 months with Best.Energy. Huge congratulations to David, who has hit the ground running and made a big impression early in his career. David has brought a fresh perspective and sharp insight to the team, playing a key role in developing our new Data Portal and making a lasting impact from day one. - Most Improved – UK Project Lead, Jordan Scott
The accolade for the Most Improved team member highlights colleagues who have really excelled and progressed in their roles, recognising exceptional growth, development, and impact over the past year. As UK Project Lead, Jordan has played a vital behind-the-scenes role in keeping projects running smoothly. His contribution this year has been huge and it certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed. - Biggest Impact – Energy Optimisation Manager, Aaron Sira
This coveted award celebrates someone whose work has delivered outstanding results and made a real difference for clients, partners, or colleagues. In his role as Energy Optimisation Manager, Aaron has made a big impact on savings opportunities across numerous complex sites this year, with a special standout moment presenting to our ‘MasterMind’ partners in Dubai. - Unsung Hero – Head of North & South America Technical Services, Alex McMillan
Many of our colleagues work hard in the background to keep Best.Energy running like a well-oiled machine. In particular Alex, who quietly keeps everything running behind the scenes, tackling complex projects and technical challenges with calm efficiency. He’s a reliable leader and a true asset to the team. - Best Team – Support Team
All of our teams play their parts in making Best.Energy the success that it is. But this year, the award for Best team went to the Support Team, which delivers reliability, results, and outstanding service every single day. As the backbone of Best.Energy, they play a crucial role in keeping our customers happy and the business running smoothly. - Most Valuable Player (MVP) – Electrical Supervisor, Lizzie Brand
Our MVP prize is awarded to someone who inspires, motivates, and leads by example. As Electrical Supervisor, Lizzie leads with clarity, works with incredible speed and dedication, and always goes the extra mile as she travels up and down the country delivering energy-saving projects for our clients. A true linchpin of the team, she’s been named MVP for the second year in a row and it’s easy to see why.
And the fun didn’t stop when the final award was handed out. The evening continued with a delicious dinner at The Cosy Club, where colleagues bonded over delicious food, drinks, and conversation. Then, for those still full of energy, we made our way to Flight Club for a round of interactive darts; the evening was packed with fun, there was no shortage of laughs and a bit of friendly competition to keep things lively.
As Lizzie Brand summed it up perfectly:
“As always, another great evening. Love catching up with everyone as I don’t get down to Bristol that often and mentioning no names…the highlight of the evening was watching some great dance moves to It’s Raining Men.”
Highlights & What’s Next
It was a fantastic event spent with an incredible team, full of encouragement and celebration. The hard work behind the day was evident - from the thoughtful, well-planned presentations to the seamless dinner arrangements and evening entertainment.
