Role description

As the size of our direct installation projects continues to grow we are looking to build up our capabilities in business intelligence automation. This will pull together information in various forms from site surveys, installation, and maintenance, through to live IoT streams and support. The result will be a unified system that connects all our data and systems, providing an easily accessible single source of truth across the whole business. It will encompass data transformation, navigation, analysis and manipulation.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in the development of this system contributing to technology choice, architecture, system design, and implementation. They will be connecting our own customer-facing platform, mobile apps, cloud databases, and data presentation tools.

Using their knowledge of cloud platforms and their ecosystems the Business Data Engineer will make best use of the tools and services already available but when necessary they will be responsible for creating new tools. Thus, some web application development will be involved.

  • Build the infrastructure and tools we need to run projects at scale.
  • Continually enhance our systems to enable our operations team to delight our customers.
